Continuing the great success of the Nautical Ounce series, the 2023 release features the World-famous steel sailing steamer “Great Eastern” today. Until 1901, the “Great Eastern” was by far the largest ship ever built in the world with a length of 211 meters. Due to its design, the sailing steamer was far ahead of its time.

The “Great Eastern” gained real significance with the laying of the first functioning transatlantic cable (1866). 

This made it possible for the first time to exchange telegrams between America and Europe in real time using Morse code.
