The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) introduced the ultra high relief Canadian Peace Dollar series in 2020. Each release of the series has been minted with a distinctive single year of issue attribute. The 2024 dated, fifth release of the series, features the first appearance of yellow 24-karat gold accents and a gorgeous field pattern on the one ounce silver proof coin. The imagery celebrating Peace, which was also struck on the four previous releases, was created by retired RCM senior engraver Susan Taylor. The design was inspired by the statue of Peace at Canada's National War Memorial in Ottawa, Ontario. The 2025 release of the series is expected to feature an effigy of King Charles III by a not-yet-disclosed Canadian artist for the first time, as well as a newly designed interpretation of Lady Peace created by Ms. Taylor.
